Devoted Church

by Kyle Rye

Churches can easily become consumed with numbers (like attendance, contribution, and conversions) because they provide a simple way to measure growth. But the first century church measured growth differently. At the end of Acts 2 we’re given a glimpse into the life of the early church, and discover that “they devoted themselves to” 8 specific activities. As a result “the Lord added to the church daily those who were being saved” (Acts 2:47). Thus, their measurement of growth was not based on numbers but on one’s level of devotion to God. Join us this Sunday at 5:00 p.m. as we investigate what we must be devoted to in order to grow like the church of the first century.
